Community Outreach

St. Matthew School is proud to instill values of community service with our students.

A small school nestled in the Forestville village, we have big heart. It is important to give back to our Parish and greater community and instill these values of service with our students. Each year, teachers and students commit to various projects as ways to recognize and support those in our community.

  • Decorating Christmas stockings and Easter baskets with treats and warm messages for residents of Jerome Home in New Britain
  • Taking care of the school grounds by planting flowers, etc...
  • Creating homemade Christmas cards for members in our community such as nursing home residents, firefighters, and police officers
  • Celebrating the our wonderful staff by making flowers to decorate their space as a warm recognition of their hard work
  • Welcoming Brain's Angels into our school to learn about those who are less fortunate and to support their efforts by donating needed items
  • Creating artwork for senior citizens
  • Adopt the fire department and make cards, bake treats, and sending care packages

Students made slime for patients at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
