SMS Advantage

St. Matthew School is an extraordinary learning community

for students in Pre-K3 through Grade 8, nestled in the Forestville section of Bristol, where we believe educating hearts and minds matter. As a member of our school family, our caring and experienced teachers will nurture your child as both a student and a person, ensuring all those in our care are provided with an education that will allow them to flourish in academics, athletics, and personal interests.

Since 1961, our school has been rooted in a tradition of excellence,

inspired by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and remains a beacon of light and academic excellence today and certainly for years to come. Families choose St. Matthew School for the warm, respectful environment, coupled with strong academics, and stay for this and the community that embraces all, making our school a truly special place to learn and grow.

Let's get your child's journey to SMS started!

1. Reach out to our Administrative Assistant, Kate Ricci, in the school office. She can be reached at 860.583.5214 or by email at [email protected]. Kate is the friendly voice who will greet you over the phone and in person. She chose St. Matthew School for her own children and now her grandchildren attend. There’s no one better than Kate to get you started on your SMS journey!

2. We’ll invite you for a tour of our school and to chat with our Principal, Dr. Plasky. Liz will answer any questions that you have and learn more about your child to help ensure we create a tailored learning experience.

3. When you’re ready, please complete the materials in the registration folder we’ll provide when you visit, and then return those to the school office.

There’s consistently high interest in enrollment. In anticipation of wait lists, especially in our Pre-K and Kindergarten, we encourage you to apply when ready to hold your child’s seat today!

We’re here to help you along the way! If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
