Liz Plasky, Ed.D.

Dr. Plasky joined the St. Matthew School family in August 2022 to serve as its second lay Principal. Liz is committed to life-long learning and has earned several degrees in education:

  • B.A. Psychology - Southern Connecticut State University
  • B.S. Early Childhood Education - Southern Connecticut State University
  • M.A. Early Childhood Education - Kenesaw State University
  • Sixth Year Professional Diploma of Advanced Studies as an Elementary Education Classroom Specialist - Southern Connecticut State University
  • Ed.D. Educational Leadership - Southern Connecticut State University

She held two leadership positions prior to her time at St. Matthew School:

  • Assistant Principal - St. Bridget School, Cheshire
  • Assistant Principal - St. Mary School, Milford

Liz also served as a teacher in several grade-levels ranging from Pre-K through Grade 8 at Catholic Schools in both the Archdiocese of Hartford and Atlanta:

  • St. Rita School, Hamden
  • St. Gabriel School, Windsor
  • St. Anthony School, Winsted
  • Our Lady of Victory School, Tyrone, GA

When not in school, you'd likely find Dr. Plasky volunteering for her Parish in youth ministry or swimming! She is a certified American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Instructor as well as a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor.

Liz is an expert in the use of technology, especially as it relates to its use in high quality teaching and learning.

The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary lovingly served our school community in the capacity of Principal and Teacher for 55 years. They are always friends of our school! Dr. Plasky recently invited the Sisters to help us live out our mission rooted in the important tradition of the Sisters.
